The "Mitt and John Show"

The Republican Party shot itself in the foot last night. Most of the debate was McCain and Romney bickering like spoiled children over who would be a better leader. Ron Paul was given a whole nine seconds to answer whether he would have appointed Sandra Day O'Connor to the Supreme Court before being abruptly interrupted by Anderson Cooper . Huckabee got the "on Paul Treatment" by not being allowed to say much.

The whining at the debate makes me wonder if either McCain or Romney will have the muster to be a great muster.

Other notes: Mitt Romney is not a Washington "Outsider." Outsiders do not get to become members of the Council of Foreign Relations (A powerful Washington foreign policy think tank)
Ron Paul won the debate last night, especially on the economy. He was the only candidate who has emphasized that cutting spending is as important as cutting taxes.

That wasn't an earthquake in Southern California last night. It was Ronald Reagan rolling in his grave.

"State of the Union" Comments - The Path to Bankrupcy

Bush keeps talking about increasing funding. How are we going to pay for this?

Labels: ,

"State of the Union" Comments - Iran

Here we go again... How are we going to pay for a war if we get into one?

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - We'll Always be There

The President talks about eventually reducing troops, but suggested that roops will always be there to oversee.

"We will not rest until this enemy has been defeated." - What a crock of shit! This is nothing more than perpetual war with no hope for peace. Republicans can never be considered fiscally conservative if they accept this style of foreign policy.

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - Maybe it's Just Me

The Iraqi vets attending the State of the Union Address don't seem too glad to be there nor do they seem to believe Bush.

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - Terrorism

Freedom is not dropping bombs, It is not nation-building, it is not what Bush is talking about. Adding 3,200 troops to Afghanistan will do nothing.

How much longer will this "surge" be taking place? I don't see Obama or Hillary Clinton ending this war any time soon.

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - Freedom and Liberty

Ironic that Bush wants to spread freedom and liberty abroad and take them here with the Patriot Act and HR1955.

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - Faith Based

Faith Based organizations have no business gutting the federal government for money, We, as a society should fund these with our money instead of sending it to Washington.

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - Notes

Bush claims to want to cut spending, but he wants to fund Pell Grants, Sallie Mae, Freddy Mac, and alternative energy sources. This is why we are $9.2 trillion in debt. Earmarks are minor compared to these programs. Cheney is sleeping.

Labels: ,

"State of the Union" Comments - Jobs

More money to fund misplaced workers so they can learn new jobs that they will be misplaced from. We need to be a nation of self-sufficiency and entrepreneurship.

And no funding for energy studies for political cronies!

Labels: ,

"State of the Union" Comments - Free Trade

He sounds like a free trader, but what about Cuba and North Korea? And how much needs to be written in a free trade agreement?

Labels: ,

"State of the Union" Comments - "No Child's Behind Left"

In spite of test scores on the rise, many educators and parents are claiming that their children are not lerning at the rate the parents did when they were in school.

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - Health Care

We need to get the government out of our health care. A good start is to no longer fund it.

Labels:

"State of the Union" Comments - Economics

Spending - a brief mentioning of it... $18 billion in cuts (I wonder what the original spending bill was.) The current budget is at $2.7 billion. A public vote on earmarks sounds promising.

I doubt he will mention abolishing the Federal Reserve but he wants to restore spending programs like FreddyMac. Now you know why we have a $9.2 trillion debt.

Labels: ,

"State of the Union" Comments - Economics

The stimulus package is just delaying the painful inevitable. At least Bush gets it on taxes. I would like to see those taxes permanent and further tax cuts. I am waiting to see if he mentions cutting spending.

Labels: ,

"State of the Union" Comments - A history of failures

The issues Bush faced when he first took office are the same issues facing us today. Except now we are also in a war. Bipartisanship isn't any good when they compromise and settle for bad legislation.

The Cards are Stacked Against Us

From NBC's Lauren Appelbaum
While Paul did speak the least during tonight's debate, he was given the last word, answering the last question of the debate.

Times During Segment Three
Romney: 8:48, during five times
Giuliani: 4:14, during four times
Huckabee: 4:02, during three times
McCain: 3:00, during three times
Paul: 2:57, during two times

Total Times
Romney: 21:11, during 13 times
McCain: 16:00, during 13 times
Giuliani: 13:50, during 11 times
Huckabee: 12:11, during nine times
Paul: 6:31, during six times
------------------------------------------------------------
Let's assume that Ron Paul is lunatic, as many pundits claim. Give him equal time so all of America can see him as the "wacko" he is. The problem is that Ron Paul's message is resonating with many people.

The Republican leadership knows that Ron Paul is viable. There have been allegations of voting irregularities in New Hampshire, South Carolina, and Louisiana. (Louisiana held caucuses on Tuesday, but will also hold primaries on Feb. 9)

Ron Paul will not win the Republican nomination. There are a few reasons for this. One reason is that people still don't know who he is. When he gets mentioned, there is no mention on his positions. The only time people get to know his positions is in debates. (Many post-debate polls show that Paul wins the debates handily) The networks know this and this is why he gets the least debate time (if he gets to debate at all i.e. Fox in New Hampshire).

The worst part about Paul not being our next president is that we will very likely get a President who will continue to spend and our debt will soon be insurmountable.

Ron Paul for President

America is in a fiscal mess. We are heading for a recession (if we aren't already there.) There is a "War on Terror." If HR 1955/ S 1959 becomes law, a terrorist could be defined as anyone who has a disagreement with the federal government.

The Democratic candidates are looking for more ways for government to "help" people. The bloated failures of the Departments of Education and Health have shown that government is NOT the place to go for help.

The Republican candidates want to cut taxes in one way or another. But most of the candidates have no real plan to cut spending and the "mainstream" candidates all support the "War" in Iraq.

Ron Paul separates himself from the other candidates by wanting to abolish the income tax AND making viable cuts in government to prevent us from getting further in debt. He is a Constitutionalist and will not sign any bill into law unless it passes Constitutional muster.

Ron Paul is the best candidate for president. He will limit spending, restore civil liberties, and promote free trade while maintaining a non-interventionist foreign policy. His fiscal policy is the long term solution while the Bush "stimulus plan" is a quick fix and not a long term solution.

Ron Paul is the only anti-war, pro-liberty, pro-taxpayer candidate. If the MSM promoted his record like they promoted the New Republic smear piece, everybody would know who he is and what he really stands for.

A REAL Economic Stimulus

President Bush has proposed an economic stimulus package estimated at approximately $145 billion. The premise is that each eligible taxpayer would receive a $800 tax rebate.

If you want a real economic stimulant, abolish the Income Tax and privatize or abolish non-Constitutionally essential agencies. People having all of their money to do what they please will stimulate spending more than being given a dollar from the person who took $100. With fewer agencies imposing fees, companies can pass the savings to its customers. Not only will taxpayers have more money to spend, but many items will cost less. This will allow people to spend and save.

The Bush stimulus package may get the economy out of a coma, but it will still be bedridden.

The Recounts are ON!

Republican presidential candidate Albert Howard and the "Granny Warriors" have raised over $40,000 for the recount of the Republican votes in last Tuesday's primary. The recount is currently underway and is expected to last approximately one week.

Democratic Party nominee Dennis Kucinich has also requested for a recount. He has requested a recount of the two counties with the largest discrepancy over the rest of the state.

Help Recount the Votes

Republican Presidential Candidate Albert Howard has filed for a recount of the votes casted in last Tuesday's New Hampshire Republican Primary. The reasons were discrepancies in the vote shortages of both himself and fellow Republican candidate Ron Paul.

The Neocons' Biggest Fear

HINT: It's not Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, or John Edwards...

It's Ron Paul. Dr. Paul put on a clinic on the economy and foreign policy during the ABC debate last night. The others tried to dismiss him by interrupting him, but the damage has been done.

Ron Paul was excluded from tonight's debate on Fox News. No official reason was given. He received 10% of the votes in Iowa and is polling in double digits in New Hampshire. He was excluded because he has some differentiating opinions from the modern Republican Party.

Ron Paul believes in non-intervention. He is not an isolationist (as his critics claim). Isolationists are protectionists when it comes to trade while Congressman Paul is a strong supporter of free trade.

Ron Paul's views today are the same as it was in the 1980s. The other candidates have changed positions on key issues over the last twenty years. Part of this is because the Republican Party has changed from the party of Reagan to the party of neocons. He is a Reaganesque Republican.

He believes in a strong military. His service in the Air Force as a flight surgeon has given him insight in how and when to use the military. Having seen many wounded soldiers has made him reluctant to send our military on acts of aggression.

The neocons' biggest fear is that Republicans remember that the party stood for non-intervention and conservative social spending. And the fear grows with every poll taken.

I Must Have Missed Something

MSNBC just had a segment about the Internet and the Presidential Race. It showed how the Internet has been instrumental in ths shaping of the race. There was one glaring omission: No mention of Ron Paul! If anybody has benefited from the Internet, it has been him. He was the leading Republican fundraiser in the fourth quarter of 2007 with over $20,000,000 for his campaign. His name is searched on search engines more than any other candidate. He has the most supporters in social networking websites among the candidates.

Bad job, MSNBC!
